IF YOU THINK

IF YOU THINK

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not,you don't!
If you like to win,but think you cann't,
It's almost a clinch you won't.

If You think you'll lose,you're lost;

For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself
beforeYou can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always goTo the stronger and faster man,

But sooner or later the man who winsIs the man who thinks he can.

IS YOUR LIFE WORTH SAVING

A boy was drowning in a river and
he shouted for help.
A man passing by jumped in the river
and saved the boy's life.
As the man was leaving boysaid,"Thank You".
The man asked ," For What ?"
The Boy Replied,"For Saving my life".
The man lookedinto the boy's eyes and said,
"Son,make sure
when you grow up that Your life was worth saving".

Children learn what they live

Children learn what they live

If a child lives with criticism,he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with praise,he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with hostility,he learns to fight.
If a child lives with tolerance,he learns to patient.
If a child lives with ridicule,he learns to shy.
If a child lives with encouragement,he learns to confidence.
If a child lives with shame,he learns to guilty.
If a child lives with approval,he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with fairness,he learns to justice.
If a child lives with security,he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,

he learns to find love in the world.

RISK....

RISKS

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool,
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams, before the crowd is to risk their loss.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken ,
because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing , does nothing ,
has nothing and is nothing.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow ,
but theycannot learn , feel, change, grow, love or live.
Chained by their attitudes, they are slaves, they have forfeited their freedom.
Only one person who risks is free.

Success

Point of View

Superb story of perception
Point of View

Point of ViewImagine you're in London's Heathrow Airport.
While you're waiting foryourflight, you notice a kiosk selling shortbread cookies.
You buy a box, putthem in your traveling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies.
Finally you find aseatnext to a gentleman.
You reach down into your travelling bag and pulloutyour box of shortbread cookies.
As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you intensely.
He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as youpick upthe cookie and bring it to your mouth.
Just then he reaches over andtakesone of your cookies from the box, and eats it!
You're more than a littlesurprised at this. Actually, you're at a loss for words.
Not only doeshetake one cookie, but he alternates with you.
For every one cookie youtake, he takes one. Now, what's your immediate impression of this guy? Crazy? Greedy? He's gotsome nerve?!
Can you imagine the words you might use to describe this
manto your associates back at the office?
Meanwhile, you both continueeatingthe cookies until there's just one left.
To your surprise, the man\nreachesover and takes it. But then he does something unexpected. He breaksit inhalf, and gives half to you. After he's finished with his half he gets up,and without a word, he leaves. You think to yourself, "Did this really happen?" You're left sitting there dumb founded and still hungry. So you go back to the kiosk and buy another box of cookies.
You then return to your seat and begin opening your newbox of cookies when you glance down into your travelling bag.
Sitting there in your bag is your original box of cookies -- still unopened.
Only then do you realize that when you reached down earlier, you had reached into the other man's bag, and grabbed his box of cookies by mistake.
Now what do you think of the man? Generous? Tolerant?
You'vejustexperienceda profound paradigm shift.
You're seeing things from a new point ofview.
Is it time to change your point of view?
Now, think of this story as it relates to your life .
Seeing thingsfrom anew point of view can be very enlightening.

Think outside the box.Don't settle for the status quo. Be open to suggestions.
Things may not be what they seem.

bend but don't break

One of my fondest memories as a child is going by the river and sitting idly on the bank.
There I would enjoy the peace and quiet, watch the water rush downstream, and listen to the chirps of birds and the rustling of leaves in the trees. I would also watch the bamboo trees bend under pressure from the wind and watch them return gracefully to their upright or original position after the wind had died down.
When I think about the bamboo tree's ability to bounce back or return to it's original position, the word resilience comes to mind. When used in reference to a person this word means the ability to readily recover from shock, depression or any other situation that stretches the limits of a person's emotions.
Have you ever felt like you are about to snap? Have you ever felt like you are at your breaking point?
Thankfully, you have survived the experience to live to talk about it.
During the experience you probably felt a mix of emotions that threatened your health. You felt emotionally drained, mentally exhausted and you most likely endured unpleasant physical symptoms.
Life is a mixture of good times and bad times, happy moments and unhappy moments. The next time you are experiencing one of those bad times or unhappy moments that take you close to your breaking point, bend but don't break. Try your best not to let the situation get the best of you.
A measure of hope will take you through the unpleasant ordeal. With hope for a better tomorrow or a better situation, things may not be as bad as they seem to be. The unpleasant ordeal may be easier to deal with if the end result is worth having.
If the going gets tough and you are at your breaking point, show resilience.
Like the bamboo tree, bend, but don't break.
"Man needs his difficulties because they are necessary to enjoy success" - Abdul Kalam

faith is a gr8 foundation

The fields were parched and brown from lack of rain, and the crops lay wilting from thirst. People were anxious and irritable as they searched the sky for any sign of relief. Days turned into arid weeks. No rain came. The ministers of the local churches called for an hour of prayer on the town square the following Saturday. They requested that everyone bring an object of faith for inspiration. At high noon on the appointed Saturday the townspeople turned out en-masse filling the square with anxious faces and hopeful hearts. The ministers were touched to see the variety of objects clutched in prayerful hands - holy books, crosses and rosaries. When the hour ended, as if on magical command, a soft rain began to fall. Cheers swept the crowd as they held their treasured objects high in gratitude and praise. From the middle of the crowd one faith symbol seemed to overshadow all the others:
A small nine-year-old child had brought an umbrella.

No excuses

Don't you just hate it when people make excuses for their failures? So do I. But do you know what I hate even more? Finding myself making excuses for my failures! I have a policy that I try to live by: No excuses. Here are some thoughts on a "No Excuses" policy.
People will respect you. When you say that there are no excuses, that you blew it, and that you take full responsibility to make the situation right, people will be astounded (since very few people make no excuses) and they will come to a greater respect of you.
You will find yourself taking greater responsibility. When you know that your policy is to have no excuses, there will be less room for error because you will be doing everything that you can to make sure the job gets done!
You will become the "go to" person. When someone wants something done, they will turn to you because they know that they can count on you to perform. And they know they won't get any excuses! This will improve your level of success, and that is exactly what you are aiming for, right?
Practice up: "You're right. There is no excuse for that. I will fix it immediately

Luv has no conditioned

I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me. Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with a little water and held it before me, and said this:
You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love. As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers around it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds. This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love... They try to posses it, they demand, they expect... and just like the water spilling out of your hand, Love will retrieve from you.
For love is meant to be free, you can not change its nature.
If you have people you love, allow them to be free beings. Give and don't expect. Advise, but don't order. Ask, but never demand. It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true Love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring.

Faith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problemscience has with God,
The Almighty. He asks one of his newstudents to stand and.....

Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.

Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.

Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student : Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to healhim. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But Goddidn't. How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)

Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is Godgood?
Student :Yes.

Prof: Is Satan good?
Student : No.

Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student : From...God...

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student : Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.

Prof: So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All theseterrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student :Yes, sir.

Prof: So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observethe world around you. Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?

Student : No, sir.
Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student : No , sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelled your God?Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student : Yes.
Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, sciencesays your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Prof: Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as cold?

Prof: Yes.
Student : No sir. There isn't.
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't haveanything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is noheat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thingas cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat.We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite ofheat, sir, just the absence of it.
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence ofsomething. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light.... But if youhave no light constantly, you havenothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darknessisn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn'tyou?

Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You arguethere is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. Youare viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we canmeasure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It useselectricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fullyunderstood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to beignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tellme, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from amonkey?

Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes,of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realizewhere the argument is going.)
Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution atwork and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavour, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but apreacher?
(The class is in uproar.)
Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor'sbrain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor'sbrain, felt it, touched or smelled it?.....No one appears to have doneso. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have nobrain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his faceunfathomable.)

Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student : That is it, sir.. The link between man & god is FAITH. Thatis all that keeps things moving & alive.
That young man was ALBERT EINSTEIN.......
